Project summary: The organization had an old web site running on outdated technology. The information was difficult to find and the site often experienced glitches. Moreover, the complaint form used was not accessible (WCAG) which prevented people using assistive technologies from submitting complaints.
Ngage’s Impact: OCOL decided to use the GC’s Drupal WxT distribution and therefore chose Ngage to craft the user experience (UX), develop a new, more modern look for the Commission and develop both the internet site and the complaint form. They started by researching and developing the user profiles and then defined the UX strategy. Next they defined the user journeys and subsequent IA and navigation. The team then developed 3 design options for the client to choose from. The design was tested with users with subsequent revisions. The final design was programmed into the Drupal 9 WxT system. The full site was then optimized for quick loading, made mobile responsive, cross-browser optimized, WCAG-optimized and all security configurations were implemented. The OCOL site was built for auto deployment through full GIT integration.
